Kira Gartzou-Katsouyanni is a Research Assistant at the Greek Diaspora Project in SEESOX, and a PhD student at the European Institute of the London School of Economics (LSE). Her doctoral research focuses on the political economy of local development in Greece and Southern Italy. She recently co-authored a short book with Claudia Sternberg and Kalypso Nicolaïdis on “The Greco-German Affair in the Euro Crisis: Mutual Recognition Lost?” (Palgrave Pivot, forthcoming November 2017).

Kira holds an MA in International Relations & International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a BA in History & Politics from New College, Oxford. Before starting her PhD studies, she worked for a year at the European Commission in Brussels and Athens.
