On Sunday 2 February 2020, representatives of thirty Greek and Greek-Cypriot associations and institutions gathered in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain after the invitation of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Bankers Association in the UK. SEESOX was represented by Dr Othon Anastasakis and Dr Foteini Kalantzi. This social gathering aimed at the exchange of views on ways the various organisations could assist in strengthening the relationships of Greek abroad with the Church. Archbishop Nikitas, Mr John Chrysoulakis, the Secretary General for Greeks Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of Greece Mr Dimitris Caramitsos-Tziras addressed the meeting. The importance of enhancing the relations between the homeland and diaspora was stressed, as well as that Greece stands by the side of the Greeks abroad. Then the representatives of the different diasporic organisations spoke briefly about the profile and the goals of their association or institution. Dr Othon Anastasakis spoke about the rich output and goals of the Greek Diaspora Project.
